CHAPTER 65-1524

HOUSE BILL NO. 2220

AN ACT relating to the city of Everglades, Collier county, name; amending chapter 29068, Laws of Florida, 1953, by adding section 1A to change the name of said municipality to Everglades City.

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

Section 1. Chapter 29068, Laws of Florida, 1953, is amended by adding section 1A to read:

Section 1A. The name "City of Everglades" created by section 1 of this chapter is changed to "Everglades City."

Section 2. This act shall take effect immediately upon becoming a law. Became a law without the Governor's approval.

Filed in Office Secretary of State June 25, 1965.

It doesn't seem to have been legally changed back. Additionally, the decorative sign on CR 29 at the city limits says "Welcome to Everglades City". --NE2 04:05, 22 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Climate

[edit]

While I can find web sites that classify Everglades City as having a "tropical climate", the WP article Florida climate has a map placing the area in either the "humid subtropical" or "savannah" zone (near the boundary between the climate types). Whichever climate classification is used, it needs to have a citation to a reliable source. - Donald Albury 14:02, 25 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
