Well that was pretty quick. Do you think you could give me more time to work on the article before you question the notability of the subject? He is the starting tailback for a major Division I football program. Thanks. Dincher (talk) 15:33, 30 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Question (and this is me being curious, not me being contentious): WP:ATHLETE has that language about competing at the top amateur level of your sport . . . does being selected as a starter pre-season have the same impact or would we wait for the season to actually start? Movingboxes (talk) 15:43, 30 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I guess it's just my pre-season enthusiasm for the subject of Penn State, but I think he should be fine with notability. He had quite a successful season last year as a back up and big things are expected. But if he turns out to be a dud, I won't have a problem with him being deleted. I shall read the info on WP:Athlete now. Thanks for the direction to the standards. Dincher (talk) 15:47, 30 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I question if any mention of the Blue Röyster Cult is even relevant to this article. I am going to look around at other football player articles to see if mention of any fan group is included. If not, I propose that the section be eliminated. It sounds like promotion of the group to me and really has little to do with Evan Royster. Dincher (talk) 00:20, 2 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I do not think it deserves its own section, but it does have a reliable source in the newspaper article (the FAcebook ref is not a WP:RS). What if it were a single sentence like A group of Royster's fans nicknamed themselves the "Blue Royster Cult," a play on the rock band Blue Öyster Cult, and display a banner with the group's name and Royster's number 22 in the student section.[8]?
