New Nature?

[edit]

The diagram does not accurately illustrate Monophysitism or Eutychianism according to which no new nature is created, because the human nature is subsumed into the divine.

OO

[edit]

This article definitely needs to be changed to remove bias. Oriental Orthodox Christians are not, and never have been, "Monophysite" and neither should our church fathers be referred to as such.

This page is merely an excerpt from a Catholic encyclopedia, and is just a catholic view of "yet another heresy." This needs to be redone in the mold of other Christological pages that present different theories on equal footing.

This article was written by 55 editors. They probably subscribe to many denominations. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A00:23C0:FCF6:4801:41:FE2E:1608:D44E (talk) 13:37, 17 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Personal

[edit]

This article is HUGE. Is there really such a great interest in Eutychianism? I am going to try and see if I can pare this down some. Wow. --Pastordavid 22:51, 10 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wikifying

[edit]

I have come to the page from the Wikification project. I don't mind lending a hand, but it is a very technical subject and it looks like the article needs plenty of work. It looks like the wikification will have to go hand-in-hand with rewriting. From a strictly wikifying point of view, my main concerns are that more links need to be made, and they may be difficult to find because of transliteration differences or alternative names, also that there should be more subheadings. For general improvement of the article, I would agree that more sources need to be brought in and all the relevant viewpoints should be represented. Radically shortening the article might also be an idea, but I don't have the expertise to judge. Itsmejudith 00:35, 11 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've gotten distracted by other things since noting this page, so thanks for the reminder. I will take a go at some re-writing / wikifying and see what I can do. -- Pastordavid 01:33, 11 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Great stuff. Itsmejudith 15:44, 11 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Major Re-write

[edit]

I have started a major rewrite. Previous text was completely cut-and-pasted from the Catholic Encylcopedia. I have removed that text, and am adding the facts without the words of the POV and dated Cath Enc. Please leave the section headers in place, I will be back shortly to fill them out. -- Pastordavid 16:45, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Added a section on Eutychian Mariology

[edit]

You can remove it if you want, I thought it was worth noting, since Eutyches had more opinions than just Christological ones.24.125.102.206 (talk) 18:58, 28 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
