1974
[edit]The data for the German produced preview programmes needs verification. The UK entry was not announced until March 2, 1974, although the result of the postcard vote would have been known to the BBC a few days beforehand. Regardless, it would thus not have been possible for the Auftakt für Brighton (Prelude for Brighton) show to have aired six weeks ahead of the Brighton final. This data thus needs verification or should be removed as inaccurate. 50.247.76.51 (talk) 19:37, 3 April 2016 (UTC)
Further research shows the article and claim was indeed incorrect. The ARD shows aired on March 27 & 28 and so was not aired 6 weeks ahead of ESC. 50.247.76.51 (talk) 22:23, 3 April 2016 (UTC)
Questions over 1975 host
[edit]This has been a rather long and bitter dispute over who hosted the 1975 preview shows. Evidence I uncovered back in September/October listed Pete Murray as presenter, according to The Radio Times archives and Songs For Europe – The United Kingdom at the Eurovision Song Contest Volume Two: The 1970's. UK: Telos Publishing. p. 178. ISBN 978-1-84583-065-6. However the user who started this dispute and attempted to have me removed on the grounds I was violating the 3RR rule is convinced it was Terry Wogan, but without producing a single source to claim Wogan hosted that edition and would not contribute to where his evidence came from that Wogan supposedly hosted the 1975 Preview. Quite frankly I have not edited Murray in as presenter for two reasons. 1, is because the Preview show has not been retained in the BBC archives and thus I think that is the key to answering our question and 2, is because I wanted to ask the contributor what they think. I know it’s not a huge task, but I think it’s better to raise the point and ask what others think.
