possible typo/grammatical error

In the section 'Background:Initial causes', there's a line that reads: "Yanukovych later explained to his entourage the decision as the result of an exchange with Russian President Vladimir Putin..."

I believe "as" is supposed to be "was" there, but I apparently don't have the qualifications to make edits on this article, so I'm noting it here in case someone else wants to do it. Nosecohn (talk) 22:31, 3 July 2024 (UTC)

"As" likewise is perfectly grammatical in that position, giving the same meaning, being an abbreviation of "as being". Harfarhs (talk) 20:51, 4 September 2024 (UTC)
