Help/Work Needed

[edit]

After hours of research, I can't find what legislative district, other than Richmond or Henrico County or maybe Charles City County, Sydnor represented, among other problems. I even traveled to Richmond and viewed the clippings file at the Virginia Historical Society. Perhaps the Dancing Point NRIS will eventually make such clear, but it hasn't been published yet because of the sensitivity of the archeological work. BTW, I confirmed with a retired naval officer today that first lieutenant was a position (basically third in command) in the period of Sydnor's service. For larger ships nowadays, the position might be held by someone with the rank of Lieutenant Commander, although the ships on which he served held about 150 men and would have been too small for that rank.Jweaver28 (talk) 17:11, 4 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
