Notability

[edit]

@Frap:: I'd like to publicly observe how hard it is to obtain any third party source to talk about an uncensorable object. I'm not sure you see the irony though, otherwise you wouldn't have added that notice. Ogoorcs (talk) 20:16, 2 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, that might be hard to find a third party source but the bigger problem is self-promotion. Wikipedia is for notable things, not for people to promote their own stuff. Frap (talk) 20:26, 2 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
There is no promotion, is a breakthrough discovery, if I were working for an university I would have published a paper for it and your JSTOR reference requirement would be fulfilled. Among other things I've been a Wikimedia developer some years ago. Ogoorcs (talk) 20:29, 2 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Do you suggest to publish a paper on this on Arxiv? Please help knowledge reach the public @Frap:, as I don't know how to manage to frankly! Ogoorcs (talk) 20:44, 2 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Frap: I've seen the speedy deletion banner has gone away, but really I have no idea how I am even supposed to fix the rest, as it is months I try to have anybody even mention this work with no success. What's even more surreal and absurd is that I indirectly talked about it as part of a bigger project at the Italian Wikipedia Conference 2020 just after Jimbo intervention and even the video recording of my talk has gone missing, or I should say it has never been published. Ogoorcs (talk) 00:19, 3 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Ogoorcs: You can published a paper in a journal if you want to and if you think the idea is interesting enough to be accepted but it's likely not enough to meet the criteria for notability on Wikipedia. As a Wikipedia editor you know you're not suppose to create articles about topics you are personally or professionally involved with because NPOV and it makes you a "connected contributor". Wikipedia is an encyclopedia so it is about topics that are established, not a platform to spread knowledge to the public about novel ideas. If I were you I would start with writing better documentation, write a paper, and try see if I could be featured as a speaker at some blockchain or tech conference. -- Frap (talk) 00:40, 3 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Frap: I am pretty aware of what you're saying yet I have added some context about myself in my user page so to let you have an idea of the kind of issues I'm currently facing in my professional career as well in my personal matters, such that I have reasonable doubts anybody will want to have anything to do with me until eventually the veil of Maya will be let fall onto what I'm doing. If you dig already very superficially you can clearly see the kind of treatment I'm being subjected to and I get from the same people who have embedded me into this mess. I mean I suppose you have heard about the mantra no? 'We are the media now', so basically it means I have no voice until the that specific public will hear my voice, which I doubt it will happen until the puppeteers will be able to say 'hey look what an happy ending I'm gonna cause now', if that will ever be the case. You seem to be a very intelligent guy with ambition, dedication, focus, passion, a wide variety of technical skills and interesting ideas. By the way Daty looks pretty cool. 👍
You sound depressed, I think you might need to change your mindset a bit; stop comparing yourself to others, assume that people want good, when things don't go your way don't don't take things personal, and don't view yourself as a victim or martyr. A victim mentality is not going to help you, it is just going to be self-defeating, and it doesn't suit you because you have your strengths and talents which is something valuable.
I think it would be wise for you to invest in your mental health by going for long walks, exercise, make sure you get enough sleep, and try out going to a psychologist.
Are you involved in long-distance relationships? If so, I think you should be vary of that, because I think it sounds like something rarely works and probably brings more pain than it is worth. I think you should stay away from it.
Also I think it is generally a bad idea to publicly air grievances because it can reflect bad upon you and scare people away.
I think you shouldn't desire people who does not desire you. You deserve someone who likes, desires and appreciates you as much as you do like her. Don't waste your time or love on someone who doesn't love you back.
You seem like a guy that people would enjoy have interesting talks with and like someone that people would want to be friends with. I think you should try get yourself out there where there are people, for example the local church, or sign up for some classes, activities, etc, there is an app called Meetup where you can go to meet people for having a beer, a coffee, dance, climb, code together, or anything, I think should try it out and that you could find friends there. Contested deletion

[edit]

This page is not unambiguously promotional, because it simply describes the file system, the first of its type. As I've written in talk page, it's hard to have anybody talk about an uncensorable object of this kind, despite how impactful it may be. Ogoorcs (talk) 20:26, 2 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I'd like some other editors to fix the article to remove the 'found' issues, if possible and to specifically highlight the statement where the 'promotion' happens. Ogoorcs (talk) 20:38, 2 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
