Estrid (company)

[edit]

Estrid is a Swedish based, female-first razor brand founded in May 2019.
The idea behind the company was born by the willingness to change a man dominated industry, where one out of three women use razors developed for men when shaving. However, women tend to shave larger areas than men, which made Estrid question why there weren’t any good, quality razors made for this specific purpose. The razor industry of today has been criticized for its superficiality, shaving already hairless legs and with no hair visible whatsoever in its advertising. Estrid strives to erase this ideal, and instead show diversity, female body hair and the reality in its advertisements.

Estrid was created by Amanda Westerbom, Ben Eliass and Alan Aygun in conjunction with fashion profile and stylist Nadia Kandil.

The company is now active in 8 markets in Europe and the razors are also distributed in H&M Beauty Stores.
