I rewrote most of this page as it seemed to be larded with promotional pull-quotes that didn't say much about the actual music and aesthetic. I've replaced those promo links with a link to Warburton's overview of the label, which is more neutral/skeptical in tone and thus (IMO) more appropriate for a Wikipedia entry. It may be late in the day to comment upon the above but being a consumer of Erstwhile (so to speak) I can heartily concur with the link to Warburton's overview. Especially as I own a copy of the Amplify 02 box. His knowledge of the music and participants is deep and the overview itself reads well and helps to put the label into an appropriate context. Good work! 19:57, 14 July 2007 (UTC)Datapanik
- Thanks for the comment. Pity that (AFAIK) there isn't any more recent piece online by Dan or another writer that brings the story up to the present in similar detail...! --ND 22:54, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

Brief copy edit run - encyclopedic content
[edit]Hi there, I bumped into this article via "random article." It looks like some promotional content and original research is present. Here are a couple of examples of content that sounds a personal opinion or original research.
- Perhaps the most useful survey of the label's aesthetic and history up to 2002 remains Dan Warburton's review of AMPLIFY02:[1]
The source isn't cited for anything else, but it might be useful for content.
- "Sometimes the music can be conventionally beautiful, with almost-orthodox moments of melody and rhythm:"
I'm removing these and similar original research/personal opinion statements or rewriting if possible, or flagging as synthesis/original research/citation needed
