Talk:Errata
What's the problem here, you mediocrities? Errata are a legitimate - and very important - band from Australia that beg inclusion here; if nothing else than for cross-referencing with the very closely-related Perth band Sleeper x. Get your act together and put the page back. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bobus Wang (talk • contribs)

'Unremarkable'? You have got to be kidding. You might as well delete Sleeper x's entry, then. Hey, why not delete ALL of the bands' entries on here that you pithy Americans haven't heard of? Hooray! Bobus Wang 09:05, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
- I'm not American (see my userpage) and "unremarkable" means "no assertion of notability" (see WP:CSD#A7). If you re-write the article explaining why this band is notable per WP:MUSIC, it will not get speedily deleted, at least. Oh, and more personal attacks of that kind will get you blocked. By those guidelines, Five Star Prison Cell, Sunk Loto, and the aforementioned Sleeper x should no longer have a presence on Wikipedia - yet still they do, and those are just the ones that I've found with a quick lap around the site. Clearly your candour and your 'guidelines' contradict each other in a manner that should be explained to me; or am I missing something? Block that, mate. Bobus Wang 09:50, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
- The unfortunate fact that Wikipedia contains many unencyclopedic articles does not mean we should add more (see also the essay WP:INN). You are free to nominate these other articles you named for deletion if you think they don't meet WP:MUSIC, and/or to resubmit the article on Errata in a form that asserts that band's notability under WP:MUSIC. I don't want to nominate them; they're all just as valid as my previous entry for Errata. My point was that now I am unsure as to what exactly my own entry on the band might have been missing so that it was deemed deletable - these other entries contain similar format, information and relevance to mine and in the case of Sleeper x, are even firmly relatable. Can you provide me with an example of what exactly constitutes as a 'notable' band entry? Bobus Wang 10:40, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
- Well, notable bands include U2, Nightwish, The Beatles or The Rolling Stones (see more good examples here). In any case, an article is speedy deletable under WP:CSD#A7 if it does not state that its subject is in some way notable, preferably under the rules of WP:MUSIC. Just saying "It is a band" is not enough. The article should feature either multiple non-trivial third-party coverage or explicitly mention that they have had some notable accomplishments like national tours, charted hits, etc. In a pinch, just saying "it is a very popular band in Australia" is also an assertion of notability that prevents speedy deletion, but this will not save the article from regular deletion through WP:AfD. Ah, I think I'm starting to get the picture. Thanks, dude.
