Going to review this later! 🍗TheNuggeteer🍗 08:31, 5 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry Cambalchero, but after community consensus, the option had been decided as fail. 🍗TheNuggeteer🍗 04:30, 13 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I would strongly recommend TheNuggeteer closes this review as a fail. The writing is very wordy, there is a lot of confusion as to what the subject of the article even is (character or comic series), and it creates problems with understanding the scope of the comic series. Numerous unsourced statements. I haven't evaluated whether other sources exist, TheNuggeteer mentions that they have seen numerous unused sources which would likely indicate a failure to be broad in coverage (WP:GACR #3. I've left some comments below. Rollinginhisgrave (talk) 03:10, 13 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I honestly don't know if this is a failure or not, I have eight successful reviews, all passed, but I don't know with this one. Comparing to another comic, the page does not have a Background section, and that's pretty important, I will take this to WT:GAN. 🍗TheNuggeteer🍗 03:49, 13 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

A lot of the words are unsourced.

Spotcheck

[edit]
  1. Red XN - Looking here, the page does not mention Ernie Pike, probably another page? (Can you link the source too?)
  2. Green tickY - The source is in another language, but the source looks good.
  3. ? - Where did you find 'Martignone' and can you supply a link?

Prose and content

[edit]
  • Such stories do not narrate real battles or exploits of noteworthy military people, being instead tragic stories of unknown soldiers, made up by the author. This first bit is redundant if you are going to say they are fictionalised. There should not be a comma between soldiers and "made up" in that case.
  • You don't mention in the lede that the reporter's name is Ernie Pike.
  • Oesterheld worked again with the character this reads as euphemistic
  • during the time of the Vietnam War,
  • Gloss Ricardo Barreiro
  • used it used him
  • It is strange for the entire overview section to be about WWII, and the parts about Vietnam to be relegated to publishing history. This section should be rewrittten.
  • It is quite confusing whether this is an article about a comic series or about the character of Pike. With "Ricardo Barreiro used it for a brief story about the Falklands War." Is this still part of the Ernie Pike comic series, or is it just a use of the character in another work?
  • The name of the protagonist was reminiscent of that of Ernie Pyle a lot more concise
  • a well known real life war correspondent of the era be more precise than "of the era": what is the context?
  • Unlike Ernie Pyle
  • into the creation of -> to create

Suggestions

[edit]
  • You don't need to put quotation marks around "Hora Cero" if it's italicized
