Speedy deletion?

[edit]

Well, I would have thought that the career and publications, being awarded the CBE, and getting an obituary in The Times saying that he was "for long a leading figure in educational administration and thought in England" were sufficient assertions of notability for speedy delete purposes. yes, and not just for speedy. It is accepted at Wikipedia that a Times obit is unquestionable justification for notability. It and the NY Times are the two papers for which that holds, due to their known selectivity. Just make sure none of t he article is copied from it or other published sources.
