I haven't been able to find any reliable third party references on-line. There is one off-line reference listed but there are no in-line citations. I'm also not sure whether the Children's illustrator category really applies as there is no reference to this subject being a children's book illustrator. I have left a message on the original creator's Talk page asking him to expand and improve the article.--Plad2 (talk) 23:43, 25 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
References added for Prater's work as a Boer War correspondence. I can't find an ONLINE third-party reference to his work as a children's book illustrator but a Google Book search or COPAC lists many children's books with his illustrations.
