Worth contributing?

If you peruse the IMDb message boards for Jim Varney, the fan response to the CGI Ernest has been overwhelmingly negative. Is this worth mentioning in the article? I can't quite think of a way to say this from an NPOV. Any suggestions/comments?-----Enigmatick 04:05, 2 February 2006 (UTC)

The parody of Ernest falling out of the nose of the statue of liberty was from the TV show The Critic, and not from Beavis and Butthead, unless it was on both.

Picture?

This article could use a picture or two. --TheReverendDoom 19:36, 23 September 2006 (UTC)

Yes it could. Knightskye (talk) 09:21, 17 September 2008 (UTC)

I concur!

Orange Juice

Didn't he also do national ads for Florida Orange Juice? I can remember the character doing an ad where Vern slams a window on his hand after he had been interrupted at breakfast. Devtrash 02:17, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

A new actor is portraying Ernest these days. See http://www.ernestads.com/ for details. Allen Huffman 21:28, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Ernest Saves Christmas.jpg

Image:Ernest Saves Christmas.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:08, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

Jake

Didn't ernest have a pet goldfish named Jake in Ernest Goes to Africa, even though he broke the bowl it was in, accidently dropped him into a sink drain? Let me know if I'm wrong. -Metalwario (talk) 13:14, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

Disney

I know Earnest was picked up by Disney for a time in the late 80s. Disneyland's Splash Mountain was opened with a special titled "Earnest Rides Splash Mountain," wherein the story was that he was the first rider. He also appeared in a segment of the park's 35th Anniversary special, the main feature was a home movie where a young Earnest (played by a child actor) visited the park with his grandfather (played by Jim Varney.)

I lost my tapes of all this old stuff years ago, unfortunately. I'm not sure whether these specials were regional or national (I know the 35th anniversary show aired on NBC in San Francisco, and had characters from Cheers and other shows as well).67.174.192.226 (talk) 12:12, 13 August 2010 (UTC)

Religious POV

In the Family section:

Jennifer Sharkey Worrell: Ernest's beloved and sadly late first wife. She was taken from this earth too soon and left Ernest behind. They will joyously reunite in heaven for eternal happiness someday.

Please keep this sort of stuff on Conservapedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 101.166.150.53 (talk) 06:10, 8 October 2012 (UTC)
