Eric Chu is the Mayor of the New Taipei City, he said it many times!
[edit]Please writing the mail ask for the Mayor of New Taipei City -- Eric Chu, Is he the Mayor of New Taipei, or Xinbei? The E-Mail of Mayor Chu Address: 台灣新北市板橋區中山路1段161號 / 161 Zhongshan Street, Banqiao District, New Taipei City, Taiwan To:朱立倫 / Eric Chu --75.65.40.180 (75.65.40.180) 07:00, December 25, 2010 (UTC)
- As news sources all indicate, "Xinbei" is still the official translation but may be changed to "New Taipei." Until the change officially occurs, whatever Mayor Chu wants still isn't official. --Nlu (talk) 11:28, 25 December 2010 (UTC)
- As news sources: "New Taipei" is the English name of 新北 since December 2010, not may be, The Mayor Eric Chu said just is New Taipei, the currect name is New Taipei!
I don't have idea even if I was be blocked. But I must say the truth. Repeat: Please writing the mail ask for the Mayor of New Taipei City -- Eric Chu, Is he the Mayor of New Taipei, or Xinbei? The E-Mail of Mayor Chu Address: 台灣新北市板橋區中山路1段161號 / 161 Zhongshan Street, Banqiao District, New Taipei City, Taiwan To:朱立倫 / Eric Chu --75.65.40.180 (75.65.40.180) 02:00, December 26, 2010 (UTC)
(Note to others: I have blocked 75.65.40.180 for 24 hours not because of what he advocates but because of his refusal to listen and disruptive, GFDL-violative copy-and-paste moves, but I do want to response substantively as well.) No one is disputing that Mayor Chu wants the city to be known as "New Taipei" in English, but please see news sources on this controversy between Mayor Chu and the ROC central government. For example: [1][2][3]. Mayor Chu may still get his way. But until and unless he does, "Xinbei" is official. --Nlu (talk) 00:12, 26 December 2010 (UTC)
