Erato of Armenia

[edit]

I have finally updated, retyped the article and added in cited sources for this article. This article brings me great sadness because I have really enjoyed for the past year doing biographies on ancient Armenian Kings. Although this is the last article on ancient Armenian monarchs I will be doing there are some things I want to clear up about the Artaxiad dynasty:

  • The last Artaxiad monarch to rule Armenia was not Tigranes IV, Erato nor Tigranes V. It was in fact Tigranes VI who served as King of Armenia under Roman Emperor Nero. He was the nephew of Tigranes V being the son of Tigranes V's brother, Alexander and was the maternal grandfather of Plancia Magna.
  • The Arsacids of Parthia and Armenia, monarchs from the Kingdom of Commagene, monarchs of Media Atropatene, monarchs from the Royal family of Emesa and various aristocrats and monarchs from the Roman Middle East and Asia can claim their lineage to the Artaxiad dynasty of Armenia.
