Merge w/Option

[edit]

I believe there is little qualitative difference between this page and the Stock option page that has already been replaced with a redirect to Option. Much of the material here overlaps with Option and would probably be easier to follow in one location. There might be space for a page on exotic equity derivatives, but for now, I think we should merge to avoid duplication. Ronnotel 19:47, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think the option page is plenty long enough as it is. Wouldn't it be better to delete all the details here on options (add any info to option that isn't already there), but keep all the stuff on the other derivatives. If there are already pages for the other derivatives as well, do the same thing... delete all the details and replace with a link. This page then becomes a list of the possible derivatives and links the detail pages.Retail Investor 02:50, 8 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair enough, here's my proposal. Let's completely rewrite the page, describing equity derivatives a generic term that includes vanilla equity options but also less familiar products such as warrants, etc. All of the text relating to standard options will be removed in favor of Option. The more exotic products will be left here. Ronnotel 19:41, 8 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
