Side effects and the active ingredient Aspartame
[edit]I think it would good to mention somewhere in this article about the not-so-well-known side effects that a few people have reported from taking Equal, but the media fails to report. Such as headaches, menstrual irregularities, nausea, dizziness, skin lesions, rashes, hyperactivity, heart palpitations, gastrointestinal disorders, blackouts, numbness, memory loss, blindness, seizures, and suicidal depressions. Just because a very small percentage of people have reported these symptoms, or because people fail to relate these symptoms with the sweetener they add to their morning coffee doesn't mean that this should be left out. For example: http://www.vegsource.com/davis/sweeteners.htm
If no one objects to this I'll add this myself before too long. Mzanime (talk) 19:42, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
Now a brand name
[edit]In the past year or two, the company has produced Equal-branded saccharin and sucralose as well as aspartame. The logo has also changed to a lowercase script font. --Joe Sewell (talk) 21:02, 18 June 2014 (UTC)
