Captivity

[edit]

If this and other pages on snakes (and reptiles in general) should have information on captivity, it should be science based. I know of no science that says "they become quite tame with regular handling." That is, the idea that the snake become less "tame" with less handling. It also normalizes handling of animals that do not want to be handled. Whether handling of snakes is right or wrong is beyond the scope of Wikipedia. That also means it should not take side.

I do not think information like this, as well as on "morphs," should be included on Wikipedia. I do not think designer animals are a general interest. White tigers are different, as it is controversial and involves inbreeding and there is a general awareness and interest in them. A white elephant would make the news. A white snake does not. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.253.73.146 (talk) 16:34, 4 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
