Sequal Section
[edit]"The initial box office performance was however fairly positive, hence once again in contrast to the reviews, but again a reminder at the stupid mindset of a lot of moviegoers."
Is that really nessecary? Adding that "Stupid" part seems to be purely opinion by someone who didn't like the movie, and I think it would be better if the line was taken out. It's got nothing to do with an Encycolpedic entry, unless there's some proof that the IQ of people who went to see the movie is lower than others who didn't.... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.45.87.129 (talk) 15:55, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
I think you guys messed up on the cast
[edit]I am pretty sure it is not Ashton Kutcher but is actually David Lehre, the same person who made the myspace movie.. who is playing the guy that parodies punkd. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.254.199.91 (talk) 20:37, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
Silas Quotes?
[edit]Anyone have the actual translations for the Silas-knockoffs lines?
- I don't think they should be given as translations, as most of them are legal, academic, or religious terms/phrases. Chronolegion 13:50, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
Superman Returns
[edit]Is it okay if Superman returns is mentioned in the intro paragraphe? I'm surprised that it's not, cause not only was there parody sequence of it in the trailer, it's on the poster as well. I'm gonna put in if ya don't mind.
- I noticed thta as well go ahead Dappled Sage 23:25, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
See Also?
[edit]What is the point of this section? It seems increasingly irrelevant and liable to turn into a laundry list of genre parody movies. I recommend this list be tightened up to make its entries more relevant to those responsible for and connected to this specific film.68.249.204.118 23:36, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
Superhero!
[edit]Is this film in any way releated to David Zucker's Superhero!? It seems a lot like it.
- Are you talking about Superhero Movie? Because that came out after Epic Movie. SpyHunter29 (talk) 17:54, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
Rating
[edit]The rating on this page and on IMDB are inconsistant. The IMDB says that it was rated PG-13 for crude and sexual humor, language and some comic violence, but the Wikipedia page says that it was rated R.
Is there a way to find out which one it is?

Lord of the Rings
[edit]How does this film parody Lord of the Rings? Surely someone must know, since someone listed it. 4.158.192.25 00:48, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
- In the camp, there is a very similar sequence to what happened in the Fellowship of the Rings. Plus, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe is basically a Christian version of the Lord of the Rings. -Mysekurity 16:55, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
Plus the beginning of the movie parodies the beginning of Lord of the Rings The camp scene DOES NOT parody the LOTR. It copies VERBATIM the scenes on Aslan's camp in The Chronicles of Narnia. And I don't think "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe is basically a Christian version of the Lord of the Rings" is enough of a reason to mention LOTR where it does not belong. Plus, "The Lion..." was released on 1950 and LOTR was first released on 1955, so your statement is false. I'm changing the reference. --SatoshiMiwa 10:38, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
- I agree. The authors of Narnia and LotR were friends, so it makes sense that some of their ideas were the same. It is not fair to say that one "copied" off the other. Chronolegion 15:27, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
- Besides, LOTR was pretty Christian, too. 153.42.168.136 19:16, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
- Narnia and LotR are two different works. It doesn't matter if both were Christian or not. --Surten (talk) 07:19, 6 September 2008 (UTC)Surten
Heroes
[edit]I don't ever remember the tv show Heroes being parodied? where abouts in the movie was this?
- yea i dont remember either--Superchad 23:30, 27 January 2007 (UTC)superchad
- I don't think the show was parodied. Jayma Mays was in the show, though, for several episodes. Chronolegion 13:55, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
Decemeber Boys
[edit]I would like December Boys added to the list of references of Movies which change the plot because I have seen it and the whole theme of Epic Movie is that four random people are put together only to find out they are family. This is the exact same in December Boys. Please put this up because I doubt anyone has seen December Boys as I am one of only 400 peple to have seen it before. It has not been released and has been review only a few days ago. I have never discussed or talked before on this so please keep this up. Thankyou

[edit]I reverted the following edit: [1]. It seemed too vague and unsourced. If someone thinks it should be included, perhaps it could be replaced with appropriate details.--GregRM 16:48, 28 January 2007 (UTC)
Decmeber Boys
[edit]HI once again i see that December Boys has been edited. I have no problem with this just that No One Has Seen It. It hasn't been and only 400 people have actually seen it. I think it should be up their because the whole storyline is the same. 1.There are four people without parents. 2. they are all joined together in the same place. 3. they are all family. 4 they find out they're all family and the plot totally changes. and 5. If you can't source it find out and ask. Even if the storyline isn'y based around it it should be in there somewhere i don't know under simalarities in the movie.
Mikedagr8
I dont know how to use this —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Mikedagr8 (talk • contribs) 10:03, 30 January 2007 (UTC).
can we please put this somewhere because it is plot related even if no one can prove it- most likely because they haven't seen it. i'd like it to be somewhere, anywhere is fine just add it in where ever anyone feels it needs to be.

Plot summary template
[edit]The plot summary is way too long and detailed. A good plot summary summarises the story without giving a scene-by-scene description. Gladiator is an excellent example of a suitable movie summary for Wikipedia. Anchoress 01:03, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
- I wrote the first copy of the plot summary, and it wasn't as long as it is now. I've tried to get rid of a lot of unecessary details of the film that some people have added. If you are the users that are adding dialogue to parts of the summary, please stop (I'm referring to the Paris Hilton/Samuel L. Jackson parts). It does make it too long, and even if people are ruining the movie by reading the plot summary on Wikipedia, no one wants the script right infront of them. It's too much detail and it's not needed. White Bitch as George W. Bush parody?
[edit]Perhaps this is original research but did the "she's banned gay marriage" and climate change section not suggest an analogy with George Bush's administration?? Just a thought.GiollaUidir 14:33, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
- No. Dappled Sage 03:48, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
- Actually, there is a part (during Mr. Tumnus' Mission: Impossible 3-style briefing) where a Kanye West lookalike walks in from the side and says, "The White B**** doesn't care about black people". This is a reference to his Hurricane Katrina fundraiser controversy.SpyHunter29 (talk) 18:02, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah Kanye West does say that in the briefing done by mr. Tumnus to Lucy.--88.104.107.193 (talk) 21:03, 14 September 2013 (UTC)
Addition Harold and Kumar parodies
[edit]When Edward says "Wow! Stifler's mom!" I think that is also a reference to Harold and Kumar because John Cho (Harold) also played in American Pie as one of the main characters talking about how Stifler's mom is a MILF. It just seems odd to me that hes the one to say it. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Dyingdreams (talk • contribs) 22:29, 20 February 2007 (UTC).
- Actually he says "What a MILF!" which as you said is a parodie of John Chos line from American Pie which had Jennifer Coolidge who played Stifler's Mom. So I'm adding it as a Pie reference. Argash | talk | contribs 10:53, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
In the rated, he seems to say, "Stifler's Mom." I think in the unrated, he says, "MILF" because the F in MILF is in a sexual context, the MPAA probably wouldn't allow it (even though "Edward" doesn't say what it stands for).ChesterG 04:54, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
Plagiarism?
[edit]The plot summary seems to be almost word for word the same as what's at themoviespoiler.com ( http://www.themoviespoiler.com/Spoilers/epicmovie.html). Is one copying the other? Are they both getting their data from the same source?
- Wow. That's a ridiculous coincidence. I can honestly tell you that I came home from the movie and spent an hour and a half writing the plot to the best of my memory, without any outside help from different websites. Most of the plotline is mine, but the last few bits at the end belong to someone else. That's actually kind of funny that the first thing I write on Wikipedia ends up on someone else's site. Movie references
[edit]Since many people are curious where in the movie parodies existed, I've added the points where other movies were referenced, since then the content has been removed twice, so I bring it to the discussion page to keep the references in. - Jasonlouie 04:10, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
Where was the following movies referenced?
- Monty Python and the Holy Grail
- Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby - When they enter Aslo's camp there is a race crew in the Wonder jumpsuits.
- The Lord of the Rings trilogy
- Pan's Labyrinth
- A Christmas Story
- Ghostbusters
- Robin Hood: Men in Tights
- V for Vendetta
- Hustle and Flow - In the usage of the phrase "Its hard out here for an []"
- Bad Santa
- Clueless
- V was in the PG-13 version. During the end credits, they had a montage of all the characters dancing around. One was a Michael Jackson lookalike with the white mask, hat and cape. For Lord of the Rings, there was an extra that was dressed almost exactly like Legolas that was at the Gnarnia camp. 64.40.46.130 05:51, 22 June 2007 (UTC)
- Talladega... In the camp, there are guys dressed in racing suits with Wonder on the back. WestJet 01:34, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
- A Chrismas story is parodied when lucy gets her tongue stuck to the pole.
(JW)
- Along with the tongue/pole I think it parodies Titanic when she gets the ax and says "you can do it" like when Jack says it to Rose.
300 parody?
[edit]300 is listed as a parodied movie in Epic Movie, while Epic Movie was released months before 300. Should this be editted? Aga the Wolf 03:07, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
No. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.236.137.53 (talk) 06:36, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
Alternate Ending
[edit]There is and alternate ending to the film, where the main charachters walk out of the wardrobe and meet Willy Wonka and he knows where they have been ashe had planned it all. He then walks into the wardrobe with the naked woman seen when the wardrobe was first opened.
Should this be added to the artilce??--User: Naj da Man
I don't know. Maybe add another section with the heading Alternate Ending and explain it there. ☺EfansayT/C☺ 01:53, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
Category - Spoof?
[edit]One writer categorized the genre of film not as spoof but as "re-enactment," referencing several films much like a musical mashup. [2]

Citing IMDB as a source
[edit]"On IMDb, out of 30,268 user ratings, the movie has a rating of 2.3 out of 10, putting it at #80 on IMDb's "Bottom 100" list."
If you cite numbers like these, be sure to mention the particular date that you wrote this. User ratings are very fluid and change from time to time. As of today, August 21, 2008, there are 35,083 user ratings, the total rating is 2.2, and it's at #77 on the Bottom 100 list. I have changed the text to reflect these new numbers, and I'm making a point to state that this is true as of 8/21/08. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.139.173.165 (talk) 14:07, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
Plot
[edit]This movie's plot should be an empty space as it has NONE! NONE WHATSOVER! It's just parodying trailers of these movies. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.133.162.76 (talk) 22:39, 17 July 2010 (UTC)
