Name Pronunciation?
[edit]Any Albanian speakers able to chime in on how his name is pronounced? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.23.77.185 (talk) 04:21, 23 May 2009 (UTC)
En-VAIR jo-KYE. The "Gj" is a hard "j" like in "joke," and the last j is treated like an "i". I don't speak Albanian, but that IS how Gjokaj himself pronounces it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Preobrazhenskiy (talk • contribs) 01:25, 21 December 2009 (UTC)
- The IPA transcription of his name contains a symbol [ʒ̪] which does not seem to have any reference. The article Albanian language doesn’t mention anything about any presence of a dental [ʒ] in it, either does the article Voiced postalveolar affricate. I’m assuming something else was meant with it. Meanwhile I’m replacing with a more conventional sign.--Ąžuolas (talk) 10:11, 24 June 2013 (UTC)
Creating a "Personal life" section
[edit]If it ever happens, there's an interview here where he mentions that he has a twin brother (presumably identical). --V2Blast (talk) 10:31, 14 September 2009 (UTC)
Unusually talented at impressions?
[edit]In one late-2009 episode (I think it is the 2nd in which Summer Glau appears), Gjokaj's character Victor is imprinted with the personality of the tech guy, Topher. What ensues is either an unbelievably accurate impersonation of Topher actor Fran Kranz or Kranz did a really great job overdubbing Gjokaj to make it seem like he was doing a great impression. Gjokaj is definitely skilled at doing accents, but sounding entirely like someone else, especially someone as nasal and high-strung as Kranz (or his character anyway) is a rare gift. Any sourced info Gjokaj's performance in that episode, one way or the other? — SMcCandlish Talk⇒ ʕ(Õلō)ˀ Contribs. 10:33, 12 January 2010 (UTC)
- PS: This happens again in the final, unaired, episode of season 1, as I recall. My impression (no pun intended) is that Gjokaj is doing this all himself, no overdub. — SMcCandlish Talk⇒ ʕ(Õلō)ˀ Contribs. 21:06, 9 February 2010 (UTC)
- In the season 1 episode where he's imprinted with Dominic, he also does a marvelous job portraying him. Enver's a talented actor and as soon as people start catching onto that we'll see a lot more of him.MythicFox (talk) 22:44, 25 February 2011 (UTC)
Wrong Birthday.
[edit]He is born on January 25, 1982. The site you cited is far from reliable. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.205.51.104 (talk) 22:05, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
IMDb (if that's what you're citing) is a registered-user generated site just like Wikipedia - but without references. So we have no idea where that information came from. It's always useful to cross-check IMDb if you can, and it just so happens that Enver was born in California - and I have a source I always check for that. Family Tree Legends is (as far as I know) the last free host of the California Birth Index (see wiki article) - which is totally legit and very reliable (I've used it hundreds of times over the last several years, checking the birthdates of my Cal. family, friends and famous folks - and it hasn't let me down once). Also, his twin brother Demir is listed in the database with the same birthdate (I cited this in my reference). So... what makes you so sure of January 25, 1982? Wikkitywack (talk) 06:56, 5 April 2011 (UTC)
There's no way for me to be sure what the California Birth Index said in 2011, but all sources I can find, including that one, agree that his (and his twin's) correct birthday is February 12, 1980, not January 25, 1980 as the article currently states. I am changing the article to reflect this. 71.232.17.180 (talk) 16:33, 8 January 2014 (UTC)
