Looks like engineer is 'an jinn near'
Looks like engineer is 'an jinn near' - ie somebody who is near jinns and so could make smth very unusual+strange from ordinary viewpoint. Engineers are almost always do smth strange, not usual. Applying science is an example.Pavel Senatorov, developer of programming language Ya (talk) 06:48, 22 April 2015 (UTC)
Also note than 'genie' and 'genius' are mentioned as probable analogs in English for jinn.Pavel Senatorov, developer of programming language Ya (talk) 07:09, 22 April 2015 (UTC
About "French engineers"
The statement in the section about "French engineers" is entirely false. The title "Ingénieur" does not refer at all to membership of the French executive elite and indeed it has relation to technological skills. Polytechnique is an engineer school, so indeed someone graduating from it is an engineer. There is nothing specific about it except studies last 6 years instead of 5. But someone graduating from "Ecole Normale Supérieure" is not an engineer de facto, she is a doctor most of the time. Someone that graduated from ENA is not an engineer indeed but a manager or a politician. An ENS or ENA alumni belong to French "elite", that is less true nowadays for a Polytechnique (which is now within the "Ecole des mines" realm) alumni. Beside there are countless "ecoles d'ingénieurs" some enough prestigious like INSA or SUPELEC, other not known from the layman. JPLeRouzic (talk) 16:57, 29 May 2015 (UTC
