Conflict of interest

[edit]

It is true that I am founder and owner of this company. Apologies that I know how to code wiki pages. http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Talk:EnCor_BiotechnologyThe company is growing to be a major player in the antibody market, and will likely be bought out in the next year or two. The company had an income of nearly 1m dollars last year. So I will remove your tag. I've replaced the tag, as the article really does still need attention. Most seriously, the tone of the material needs reworking to be appropriate for an encyclopedia article. The information about the company isn't supported by inline citations. The extensive citation of your own papers in the discussion about collaborations may be problematic. While I don't doubt that your edits are made in good faith, I am sure that you can understand how there might be concerns that a company's founder may not be the most neutral and unbiased writer. (And let's be honest—"growing to be a major player" is not the same as is a major player. Sales of less than $1 million mean a small company; certainly less than twenty employees, probably closer to ten.) TenOfAllTrades(talk) 03:42, 29 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of the {{coi}} template from the article

[edit]

As you have continued to remove the {{coi}} template from the article, I have asked for third-party input from the community at the conflict of interest noticeboard. TenOfAllTrades(talk) 14:08, 29 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Whatever- I don't know anyone who can code these pages and who knows anything about the company. However everything on that page is correct and there are several links to outside sources which I did not write. The inline citations are all to peer reviewed publications which list the company specifically as a site where some of the work was done. The company is a small one, but had sales of $830,000 last year and will in all likelihood make more than $1,000,000 this year. Sales have been growing at an average of 60% per year since 2003, so "growing to be a major player" is also accurate. There are only two full time employees, not counting myself, so in terms of company size, it is very small. However this is not counting a considerable amount of out-sourcing. I would like you to sort out these problems are tell me specifically what I need to do to solve them. Also Google "neuromics.net", second article is the result of a phone interview and was not written by me, though it's obvious that the text was influenced by the Wikipedia article. yrs, Gerry Shaw — Preceding unsigned comment added by GerryShaw (talkcontribs) 15:45, 29 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Fixed now?

[edit]

Is all this fixed now? Yrs Gerry Shaw — Preceding unsigned comment added by GerryShaw (talkcontribs) 18:05, 30 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Looks OK. To improve the article, I suggest developing the article only with reliable sources that are independent of the subject (EnCor Biotechnology, Dr. Gerry Shaw, etc.). Also, you may want to pattern the article structure, etc. after one of the articles listed in Category:FA-Class company articles. -- Uzma Gamal (talk) 13:31, 2 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
