I'm hoping to find the sources for the emile desporte page. He isn't listed in any of the standard music reference sources, the National Library of France cannot come up with this information. I've talked to scholars who might be in a position to know about some sources and they have nothing. Thank you.
Any objections to the removal of the unsourced statement "On his third expedition, he disappeared, and his fate is still unknown."? 208.76.82.4 (talk) 06:04, 2 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
There is good evidence to show that Émile existed. There is none whatsoever to support the idea that he was an inventor or an Amazonian explorer in the 1950s; which would have been remarkable feats for someone who died in 1944. I have boldly removed the obvious nonsense and irrelevant so-called references, and flagged doubtful-looking sources which IMO need to be checked for veracity. I'm not convinced he satisfies WP:GNG; but the time to address that is after the WP:Vandalism has been dealt with, when the WP:RS content can be looked at objectively.
