Pro vs. Collegiate

[edit]

The lead calls the Elmira Pioneers a professional baseball team, but the Infobox includes their membership in the New York Collegiate Baseball League (2006–2010) and the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (2011-), neither of them pro leagues. There hasn't been a pro Pioneers team since they left the Can-Am League after the 2005 season. The article should either be updated to cover the past 15 years, or an article should be split off for the current collegiate team. -- Pemilligan (talk) 23:46, 26 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

1900

[edit]

How is it that the Infobox lists Elmira in two leagues in 1900? It shows "Atlantic League (1900)" and the "* New York State League (1900, 1908–1917)". -- Pemilligan (talk) 19:32, 19 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

In looking at references, Elmira teams are in the standings for both leagues in 1900. In the Atlantic League, the Elmira Pioneers had an 11-19 record when the league disbanded on June 14, 1900. In the New York State League, the Oswego team moved to Elmira on July 30, 1900.Skilgis1900 (talk) 22:32, 19 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Broadcaster that called the game on WENY radio. He call away games from ticker tape and always was referring to “unt Emma”. I can’t recall his name. I was very young at the time . I am in my 90’s
