Worthiness

[edit]

I feel a bit ashamed to boil down a woman's career with PhD from MIT to "Sexiest Geek Alive". Still, there are lots of people with PhD's from MIT but only a handful (one?) Sexiest Geek. She seems to find it amusing, and it did make International news. --KSnortum 6 July 2005 05:58 (UTC)

But why does she rise to the level of having a wikipedia article about her? Pretty much any professionally active professor operates on a comparable level. Even if not as sexy. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.232.72.190 (talk) 06:06, 4 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Fully agreed with the previous poster. This woman does not warrant a Wikipedia article. 99.249.46.216 (talk) 09:09, 9 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree. She works at google. Ellen is possibly the woman academic who in some ways comes closest to taking over the mantle once held by Anita Borg and the Systers mailing list. The sexy thing is a deliberate joke; she's having fun with it. Her work on the MIT J-machine was important. Wikipedia is an object of popular culture. It's not constrained by paper and ink limitations. 143.232.210.38 (talk) 00:35, 18 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
