Citizenship and Nationality

[edit]

Since Nationality and Citizenship are the same. I will remove citizenship from the infobox.-- And Rew 22:13, 10 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree that they are the same thing. Compare Citizenship with Nationality. For example, I am of English nationality but I am a citizen of the UK. Similarly if I ever become a US citizen, I would still have English nationality. As far as this article is concerned, it's not an issue, but your generalisation is incorrect. – ukexpat (talk) 14:26, 11 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know how it is in England but in the US, if you are a US citizen then you are a US national.-- And Rew 03:30, 18 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
As I said, for this article, it's not an issue, but your generalisation is incorrect. In the US citizenship and nationality may go hand in hand, but it is clear from Citizenship and Nationality that the concepts are not the same, otherwise why have two separate articles? – ukexpat (talk) 17:04, 18 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
In the section Nationality v. Citizenship, the article mentions that in some places in the world (especially non-English speaking countries) nationality is somehow ethnicity but since this case is for an American this generalization shouldn't make any problems. I don't intend to challenge those two concepts for every person but as far as I'm concerned, for Americans, Wikiepdia pages only mention one of the above.-- And Rew 22:04, 18 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
