I believe the Florida Secretary of State Frederick W. A. Rankin Jr. (Draft:Frederick W. A. Rankin Jr.) who Drew appointed to succeed Bloxham who became Democratic Party nominee for governor to succeed Drew was a U.S. Commissioner in Ellaville in 1883. He like Drew seems to have been from New England (Massachusetts / New Hampshire. Unclear to me what their relationship was or what Rankin Jr. was doing in Florida. Religiois leader? Baptist?
