[edit]Dear Darwinek, Emperor of Austria in 1625 is historical nonsense. Empire of Austria was from 1804. Duchy was fief of Bohemia and Empire cannot interfere in relations between king and duchess. Yopie 22:41, 7 April 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Yopie (talk • contribs)
- I resent that tone of yours. It is now referenced, you can check it yourself (if you can read schwabach of course). - Darwinek (talk) 22:54, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you for references, I can read in schwabach :-) BTW This is secondary source, and as I understand this, this privilege was by emperor Ferdinand II. as king of Bohemia, because privilege from 1498 is by King Vladislav and is about relations between king and duke. It´s customary in German books (and Czech too) to talk about monarch with his higher title (eg. Emperor Charles IV., Emperesse Marie Theresa), but in law you must differentiate, that one person can have many roles (eg. Queen of Canada and Queen of United Kingdom is same physical person, but in constitutional law not). You as actor must know it, that same person have many roles. Teschen was not direct fief of Empire and thus privilege cannot be from Ferdinand II. as Emperor, but from King. Yopie 23:32, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
- Most important is, it is the same person. -- Darwinek (talk) 07:19, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

Dukes of Teschen (Dukes of Cieszyn not a historical name at all)
[edit]Google books result :Dukes of Cieszyn = 1400-1920 = 3 books
1400-1945 = 20 books, 1960 = 44, 1980 =104, 2008=200 books
Google book result :Dukes of Teschen 1400-1945 = 798 books, 2008 = 858 books
Duke of Cieszyn by 1920 = result 3 books,
1945 = 20 books, 2008 = 200 books
Despite that there were no Dukes of Cieszyn until after 1920/1945, and the name Duke of Teschen is the correct one, a group of people at Wikipedia [1], [2] want to force recently invented names, such as Dukes of Cieszyn on the public, insinuating, that this is the long established correct name

- I support you. Such suggestions as you have made, have been made on other places allready [3], but Poles on Wikipedia prevailed over common usage in English.--Qasinka (talk) 19:31, 14 October 2008 (UTC)
