Change of citation style

[edit]

Dear @MartinCollin you created this article and added the first inline citation, which reads:

<ref>[http://histfam.familysearch.org/getperson.php?personID=I210357&tree=Welsh Elizabeth Poyntz, lady of Thurles Eley]</ref>''

Doing so, you determined the article's citation style, which probably is <ref>URL</ref> or <ref>freetext</ref> (sorry, I do not know what this style is called; perhaps you can enlighten me).

I would like to change it to comply with shortened footnotes and list-defined references (as e.g. in Henry Bulkeley or John Hamilton (Jacobite)]. I would like to add a list of sources at the bottom and use a citation style that automatically links the inline citations to the list of sources, which is not possible with the present citation style.

According to WP:CITEVAR I must seek WP:consensus. I therefore ask your permission and also that of the major content contributors; hence: dear users MartinCollins, Evangelista, Chrisdoyleorwell, Katharineamy, Ohconfucius, Laurel Lodged, but also anybody else concerned, please allow me to change the citation style. With best regards and thanks, Johannes Schade (talk) 11:32, 20 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I am in a long ago contributor to this article who is in favor of deleting it, because the subject does not appear to be notable in her own right. Regarding the change of citation style, I also support the proposed update. Thank you, Evangelista (talk) 03:53, 27 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
