Overly sensational
[edit]It seems to me that someone has cherry-picked the most sensational things that Mystal has said, rather than make any effort to actually lay out his views. His speaking and informal writing can at times be more like a standup comedian than an academic, but this article should presumably make some effort to deal with his deeper thoughts and views, not try to find the most sensationalist phrases from his journalism. - Jmabel | Talk 23:11, 22 August 2023 (UTC)
- Some statements that are not cited to independent reliable sources could be removed, per WP:BESTSOURCES and WP:PROPORTION. Llll5032 (talk) 00:29, 23 August 2023 (UTC)
- It appears to be his personal style, to which he is entitled. But that also means that he can be quoted here. Personally, I think it is good to have someone express the views he does, because they need an airing, whether or not they are "correct" is secondary, and whether or not he should be quoted is tertiary. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 196.12.203.8 (talk) 10:47, 15 November 2024 (UTC)
- Wikipedia is careful with biographies of living persons. Following the emphasis of secondary and tertiary reliable sources is preferred. Llll5032 (talk) 19:02, 17 November 2024 (UTC)
Wants to force Sotomayor to resign before January 20th, 2025
[edit]He wrote in The Nation that Sotomayor "should" resign given his mathematical assessment of the likelihood of a liberal Supreme Court. He did not seek her views on the matter. This should be included. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 196.12.203.8 (talk) 09:28, 14 November 2024 (UTC)
