US Availability

The only box that is available in the US can only record HD in the component format. That format stopped being included in most devices when HDMI was finalized. You can't plug a TV antenna, blu-ray, or newer cable tv boxes. It COULD use an ATSC tuner box, but those only output SD. So you really can't get a practical ATSC recording any more. The one that does what I want [1] isn't available in the US. Algr (talk) 06:37, 12 August 2014 (UTC)

Notability & Introduction

I have a COI/financial connection/affiliation with Elgato. Regarding the discussions above RE notability, I have thus far not found any sources about Elgato Systems (the current subject of the article) and its corporate history. However, there are numerous sources, including in-depth reviews, regarding its products. Typically when we have a suite of products that do not warrant separate pages (like iPhone or Windows 95 might) we create a single article about the suite. Therefore, my suggestion would be that we create an article about the products, which do meet Wikipedia's notability requirements, rather than the corporation, which may not. While I do note from the sources I have read thus far that their products are popular among mac users and the subject of plenty of positive reviews, the current article gives me the impression of a product directory (hard to avoid in a product suite article) and I'd like to work on something that is more neutral, concise, better-sourced, etc. CorporateM (Talk) 17:20, 13 August 2014 (UTC)
