Canada, Metal
[edit]You aren't deleting this one, Wikipedia. I know you all love deleting my articles, but this is a good one. Thrash or die, people. (Gatesofawesome! 17:47, 20 January 2007 (UTC))
Band name
[edit]I assume this name is somehow linked to the cheesy animated TV series Rocket Robin Hood which was a staple of Winnipeg TV reruns. Worth mentioning? --Wtshymanski 15:48, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, definitely. Schrödinger 16:38, 29 September 2007 (UTC)
- I read it was a reference to a short story by Philip K. Dick. Wyatt Riot 01:43, 30 September 2007 (UTC)
- No, it's definitely about Rocket Robin Hood - they mention it here on their forum: http://www.smnnews.com/board/showthread.php?p=1658290 Digestion 14:34, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
- Wow, never heard of that show before. Wyatt Riot 22:37, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
Notability Requirements
[edit]I'd argue that the band passes WP:MUSIC, at the very least under #4 for Criteria for musicians and ensembles: "Has gone on an international concert tour, or a national concert tour in at least one sovereign country, reported in reliable sources". And while the band's official forum and website may seem iffy as a reliable source to some, it's not like you're going to find tour dates in the Journal of the American Medical Association. :)
But seeing as I try to hold myself to the BE BOLD, Revert, Discuss cycle, I'm bringing it up here. What's the consensus on the tag? Anyone feel like digging up some more references? Wyatt Riot 23:23, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
I did an article/interview with them for a music blog called the Post-Rockist. You can read it here: http://www.post-rockist.com/2007/04/17/neckwreckers/ Digestion 16:47, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
Also, here is a review of their album Gretzky that was printed in national metal magazine Decibel: http://www.decibelmagazine.com/reviews/dec2006/electroquarterstaff.aspx Digestion 03:17, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
I, Andrew Dickens, play guitar in the band and I can attest that the information on here is accurate. I don't know very much about Wikipedia and what classifies as a "reliable source", but I can say first hand this information is accurate. Confirmation requests can be sent to electroquarterstaff@gmail.com if there are any doubters of my statement.
Since this conversation has died without anyone arguing against the band's notability, I'm going to remove the tag. If someone wants to argue that the band isn't notable, go for it! Digestion (talk) 17:07, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
