Per WP:OTHERNAMES there isn't a problem listing in the lead alternative names that the character is commonly known by, but considering Elaine Knight is not well-known, in terms of contextual relevance and cited references, including it as "Elaine Knight (also Peacock)" when her common-name is in fact Peacock, and has been since the character's introduction in 2014, it is a bit... premature to change the lead for her marital name (of less than a week of episodes) is contextually wrong. livelikemusic(TALK!)16:09, 29 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
There are multiple articles [10][11] from different outlets referring to her as Elaine Knight, not to mention the credits of the show itself - it is relevant to have the character’s current name as primary in the lead as is clearly the convention with UK soap characters, I am yet to find a single UK soap character article that does not follow this convention.
The name Elaine Knight is cited, relevant, and known enough to be primary in the article lead with Elaine Peacock remaining the common name used in the article title etc. 82.32.154.24 (talk) 18:00, 2 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Again, the MOS stands and as pointed out, the article name should be the first name. And just because other pages do this does not mean this one automatically does; hence the discussion here and at the Soap Opera Project. As such, via a Google search "Elaine Knight" "EastEnders" produces about 9,670 results (0.44 seconds), while "Elaine Peacock" "EastEnders" produces about 21,700 results (0.36 seconds)... that is 12,030 more results for Peacock over Knight. Again, its inclusion as the main name is premature at this time. livelikemusic(TALK!)04:25, 6 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
