Merge?

[edit]

Needs to be merged with high elf, since the PHB 4e even says they are also called high elves.--206.248.172.247 (talk) 19:01, 7 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not a merge, but a disambig. page if there's ever enough details on the 4e "eladrin" to give then a page of their own. The 2e/3e/3.5e Eladrin are completely distinct from the 4e "eladrin". Beyond a shared name, it's sketchy. If anything, right now the 4e versions deserve a mention on the elf page, or a minor mention here on the Eladrin page.Shemeska (talk) 00:48, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, absolutely. Recentism is to be avoided, and history needs to be preserved. It should be stated how eladrin were used in 2E/3E, and how they differ in 4E - do not replace the old information with the new. I have been actively trying to stem the tide of 4E-recentism - see my user page. BOZ (talk) 15:17, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I have added a publication history section to this article, as per my current project. Hopefully this will keep things in perspective. I removed the references to the 3E Monster Manual II and Planar Handbook, as I don't see where the eladrin were referenced there; if you know where these references occured, please feel free to restore them in an appropriate manner. :) BOZ (talk) 14:22, 9 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Why? Is there a use of the term "eladrin" that isn't related to Dungeons & Dragons? 129.33.19.254 (talk) 14:37, 3 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose no need for disambiguation when the original name is unique on wikipedia. MilborneOne (talk) 18:03, 3 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose another unnecessary disambiguation. Torchiest talkedits 16:50, 8 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
