Renaming the article to Mahroussa ?

[edit]

The ship was renamed Mahroussa; she is presently widely known as Mahroussa in the news (I've checked in spanish, german, english, french news sites). If noone disagrees, in a week or two, I will rename. Alvar 09:37, 6 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. Why wait? Could do with expansion too. Davidships (talk) 13:26, 7 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Suez Speculation.

[edit]

I can find no contemporary source of Mahrousa being in the vanguard at the opening of the Suez Canal in 1879. According to Popular Science June 1924 Page 26, the lead ship was L'Aigle, the French Royal Yacht.

The Suez Canal by S. C. Burchell agrees with the fact that L'Aigle carried Eugenie, and though they fail to mention the HMS Newport incident, there is no mention of the Mahrousa. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.26.210.143 (talk) 23:25, 30 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
