Transliteration

[edit]

Well, I doubt that one lecturer can be much more reliable than two known websites. When it comes to this, it seems to me that 'Express' would be more suitable because, as Ezhiki pointed out, it is a correct translation of a Russian word 'Экспресс'. Well, there is quite a difference. The point is that Express would be both a transliteration and a translation. Artem Karimov (talk | edits) 17:44, 18 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Only under the alternative system that you have proposed. The rest all follow WP:RUS, so it would still be an odd one out. --GW 19:08, 18 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Well, but how come does 'x' violate WP:RUS? 'X' stands for ks in English, right? Artem Karimov (talk | edits) 19:42, 18 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I think Ezhiki's comment on WT:RUS sums it up well: "We are trying to stick to existing romanization systems, not invent a brand new one". --GW 21:01, 18 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
