Copyright dispute
[edit]This article has been marked as copyright violation and has now been blanked. I've added some text in the interim but we need to look over the disputed source and fix/salvage what's there - Alison✍ 18:37, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
Content Suggestions
[edit]This article contains only a small amount of information about a company that has a large functional responsibility in the Irish electricity market. I would suggest the following: 1) Discussion of the difference between system operation and market operation. ( Eirgrid assumes both of these roles: TSO, (Transmission System Operator) and SEMO, (Single Electricity Market Operator)) 2) Discussion of the role of SEMO 3) Discussion of the hard-core NCC, (National Control Centre) operations element of the company. This can include photogaphs from the NCC. 4) Eirgid's network planning role should be discussed along with their role for processing new applications to generate or consume electricity on the power system. 5) Some of the terminology in the article is confusing, Is it an Electricity Network - System - or Transmission System. 6) When the second inter-connector is constructed to Northern Ireland, this will be not be referred to as an inter-connector as it effectively an internal circuit within a single electricity market. The term "Intertie" or "Tie-Line" is more appropriate. 7) The Island of Ireland is already connected to the UK electricity system via the +/- 500MW Moyle inter-connector. In terms of the SEM this will mean that when the East-West inter-connector is constructed, the two systems will be inter-connected further, (not for the first time but actually for the second) 8) Maps of the Irish electricity system are available in the public domain on the EirGrid website. - Add stuff if you want but (1) keep it relevant and interesting, and consider citing material (2) respect copyrights. Djegan 21:52, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
