No one calls it Little Jamaica...only people writing for newspapers and young out of town white kids that moved to Toronto. As Far as I know most Caribbean people just refer to it as Eglinton. also there would be problems if it was called Little Jamaica...as I'm sure there are other businesses that are from other Caribbean countries besides Jamaica69.165.153.200 (talk) 21:53, 17 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Eglinton WestLittle Jamaica – There have been increasing strides to have what was previously known as "Eglinton West" be recognized as "Little Jamaica". The neighborhood itself maintains a coalition which organizes around the Little Jamaica name, underlining the naturalness of this title. Several secondary sources also refer to the neighborhood as Little Jamaica, rather than Eglinton West including City News and the Toronto Star. Please also note that in the latter source, city officials also refer to the area as "Little Jamaica" thereby affirming its official recognition and the consistency of its use. Support per wp:commonname I'm honestly surprised it's not Little Jamaica—blindlynx (talk) 14:22, 24 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Support per nom. Toronto media normally refers to this area as Little Jamaica, as do the locals. The descriptor "Eglinton West" is very vague, because its namesake (Eglinton Avenue West) stretches many miles longer than the limits of this neighbourhood.
