"However, it should be noted that he distances himself from Zionism and criticizes the policies of the Israeli government; yet, he claims a special affinity for certain groups within the Jewish community" What the heck is that supposed to mean? Whoever wrote this thing thinks Israel represents all Jews' politics. Remove this sentence at once!

Efrim's Judiasm

From what I've read he does not see himself as being jewish. This is from a magzine interview reprinted at http://www.asmz.altervista.org/gold/viewtopic.php?id=1&t_id=59 but here is probably the most important quote in dealing with this "Efrim is similarly uncomfortable with the word God. After clearing up some disinformation currently on Wikipedia, which suggests he practices Judaism—which is not true in any conventional or orthodox sense—he explains that Silver Mount Zion is also informed by old time gospel." Let me ask briefly about other aspects of your beliefs. I was reading a Wikipedia article that said you practice Judaism...

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I’ve read that Wikipedia entry. If you tell me what the Jewish faith is, I’ll tell you whether I practice it. I don’t go to synagogue, I don’t believe that there’s a God in heaven, I don’t believe in any of that stuff, you know, I mean, so, no.
