The source cited specifically states the term "practical range" which is suitable for fire that is described as harassing and possessing only enough energy to take a combatant out. The paragraph should be removed or at the very least least, moved to its own section and defined that plunging fire, whilst even with weapon mounts/tripods and sights to range in machine gun fire for instance is not "effective" as a method of fire for taking out combatants or reliably able to kill.
