This is surely a lot more than a stub.IXIA (talk) 10:05, 1 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. I am putting it up to C, but it might well be a B. I don't claim any expertise in assessment, nor any detailed knowledge of his life and works. William Avery (talk) 13:10, 1 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Galanthus

[edit]

Galanthus plicatus 'E.A. Bowles' (pure white, lacking a petal mark) and Galanthus plicatus 'Green Tear' (outer petals with a greenish tinge) are different varieties. A bulb of the former went for £357 in 2011, and one of the latter for £360 in 2011 or 2012 (sources disagree) (all fide Google). This coincidence in prices is probably what is behind the apparent error in the issue of Country Life cited for the varieties being the same. The current record price may be £725 for Galanthus woronowii ‘Elizabeth Harrison’ (gold ovary and petal marks) Lavateraguy (talk) 19:24, 28 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
