[edit]I've added one reference for this article, but obviously more were used to write it. Please add references. Also, this article needs a new title. I'm thinking "Filipino education during the American period", but that seems vague. Ideas appreciated. --SueHay 14:34, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
Change title
[edit]I also believe the article needs another title, but for different reasons.
"Philippines education during American rule" is misleading because America is not just the U.S., and strictly speaking, many aspects of the Philippines government had been ruled from America (Mexico) during the time it was dependent of the Viceroyalty of New Spain, until control was transferred to Madrid in 1821.
I think "Philippines education during U.S. (or USA) rule" is more appropriate. — Preceding unsigned comment added by RafaelMinuesa (talk • contribs) 09:08, 15 January 2011 (UTC)
Changed title
[edit]I added "the" between the words "during" and "American". Kiddie Techie (talk) 08:51, 19 November 2011 (UTC)

Introduction: White culture?
[edit]Sorry, but while I don't disagree that the American colonial administration tried to inculcate American values, they taught white superiority? After 400 years of Spanish rule?
