Amazon3112's edits

[edit]

Dear Russ Woodroofe, It looks like you have a conflict of interest; you are very interested in lessening Latrubesse's biography. All modifications/additions that I did I put references, links, etc. However, it is not enough. Please enlighten me since your purpose is not very well clear. Why did you delete his awards, external link, career description if it is all backed by the links? Are you the administrator of the page? Are you entitled to block any edit made by another person unless it is with your approval? Also, I can assure you I'm not receiving any monetary contribution related to the edits. Before we engage further, please answer Unforgettableid's message on your talk page. Russ Woodroofe (talk) 08:58, 24 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Hi Amazon3112! You seem frustrated, which is understandable: I too might be frustrated were I in the same situation as you. Let's discuss the questions you asked, and try to come to a consensus on what should be added to Professor Latrubesse's biography. But first of all: What made you interested in editing Professor Latrubesse's page at all? Kind regards, —Unforgettableid (talk) 09:22, 24 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Unforgettableid,
I have the same question for you: what is your interest in deleting referenced information from Latrubesse's scientific career? Do you have any conflict of interest?
On Wikipedia guidelines is stated that pages should not be used as political forums with people trying to cancel one another; I didn't change what was previously wrote in the profile, I just added referenced information and you deleted. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Amazon3112 (talkcontribs) 02:01, 31 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi! You seem to have dodged my question. If you reply and sign your comment, please use full-sized American tildes, not the tiny foreign ones; the tiny ones won't generate a signature. —Unforgettableid (talk) 14:46, 5 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Unforgettableid,
Thanks for acquainting me with the signature. Don't worry; I'm American using an american keyboard (assembled in China, of course :) ) if it is what you were implying when you mentioned 'tiny foreign ones'.
I didn't dodge your question; I believe I have the same right as you to add relevant referenced info to enhance someone's profile.
I see now that perhaps his page is under attack, so I'm wondering if it is because he is a Latin American professor that successfully forged his career in the States and Asia.
Anyway, the important question is obvious and still the same: Why are you deleting referenced information on a particular person's profile? Amazon3112 (talk) 12:07, 6 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi! No worries. You seem to have dodged my question once more. Let me try for a third time. What made you interested in editing Professor Latrubesse's page at all? —Unforgettableid (talk) 13:37, 9 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Notability

[edit]
I wonder if the notability of this article warrants this much debate. From what I can tell the person's biography reads like a resume and doesn't really show what the impacts made on the field. Citation count should not be enough to warrant a wiki page and perhaps the page should be removed.: — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.238.179.246 (talk) 16:21, 1 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
The article recently survived an Articles for Deletion discussion, which determined that there was sufficient notability. The subject meets WP:NPROF C5 as having held a named position at UT Austin. If Latrubesse himself wants to request deletion, then he could do so by contacting OTRS. In that case, there would be another AfD discussion, but the WP:BLPREQUESTDELETE policy applies, and I believe it is likely that such a discussion would end in deletion.
