Sources needed

[edit]

I have copy/pasted this bit of biography from a 2009 auction catalogue I looked at online- it doesn't say that Cobiness has died. This article could do with some references and sources couldn't it?

"Lot # 010

EDDY COBINESS (Canadian 1934 - )

Squirrel Serigraph 23" x 19" (58.42 x 48.26cm.) Signed lower right & dated 1979; #10/100

Provenance: Private collection, Vancouver

COBINESS, Eddy (1934- ). Born on Buffalo Point Indian Reserve, Manitoba, Cobiness is a self-taught Ojibway painter who works in acrylic, watercolour, mixed media and limited edition lithography. A bird, wildlife and figurative artist, he often uses sponged paint and palette knife to create the creatures of Indian myth and legend, as well as native dance rituals. His Treaty Band Number 47 appears on all his works. He is a founding member of the Professional North American Native Artists Inc. "

His art too in the catalogue, considering how brilliant the animal paintings are seemed very affordable by standards of art prices - hard to believe they would be so little if the artist were dead I was thinking. 92.13.95.115 (talk) 08:45, 11 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Revisions and adds planned

[edit]

I haven't looked for free photos, and think it's unlikely that any exist for his artwork. So here is one of my favorites to use under Fair Use: https://www.flickr.com/photos/144995795@N05/51570256978/ I'll also look for a nice photo of the artist, which will most likely also be a FU one. Though I'll search first... In due time, memo to self. --Pete Tillman (talk) 19:44, 1 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

As expected, neither of these tools turned up anything of interest. So, on to FU! --Pete Tillman (talk) 19:48, 1 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
