I understand that the availability of easy sources is probably a primary motivating factor here. However, it seems highly crass to create a new article on someone shortly after their death, when their notability was obvious during their lifetime. The user who created this article appears to do this same thing a lot.

On to other issues: 1) the redlink to (read: lack of an article on) Lawrence V. Castner reveals the sense of screwed-up priorities which manifests itself in spades. According to SSDI, Castner died at the end of 1949. His heyday, including both his wartime activities and his leadership in the Anchorage business community following the war, was clearly limited to the 1940s. This may result in some real work as far as research goes, but that's no excuse to ignore the obvious. 2) The mention of Con Frank appears to trivialize him and ignores the fact that Frank may possibly be even more notable than Ed Walker. 3) I take it that Bill Walker is the same Bill Walker who ran for governor of Alaska in 2010 as the latest darling of the Wally Hickel cult of personality. If so, wouldn't you think that would be worthy of at least some mention?RadioKAOS (talk) 14:27, 27 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Should this page exist? While what this gentleman did is laudable, I do not see much difference between him and the millions of other service members in WWII. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Topcity36 (talkcontribs) 15:53, 23 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
