Yeah! Embarrassing. There was no copypaste tag so I added one. I'm not qualified to fix this, but it needs fixing. Any bodybuilding experts out there who could do it? --Rhombus (talk) 19:48, 9 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Can't blame Corney for not knowing about AUTO/COI and COPYVIO issues.....and no I didn't have time; though see below about someone who's just removing stuff without even trying to reword or find other references for it; much that's in Corney's own page, which I looked at last night for a while, is from books and magazines, but those are "relay references" and often without page citations or publishing information. Citing bodybuilder articles is problem, as also mentioned below; isn't there a way within COI/AUTO for people who are the subject to correct/add materials about themselves, or added by people connected to them? some template or something like t hat, I remember reading about it; same idea as donating a pic of yourself....Skookum1 (talk) 03:57, 20 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

instead of removing well-known material about Corney, why not RESEARCH it?

[edit]

I'm a lifelong bodybuilding fan and know a lot of this is true, including the bit about him being the greatest poser the world has ever known; better than Grimek, better than Reeves, better than a whole long list, and they themselves would say that. Rather than delete that, and just move on, as so many "oh it's not referenced and it sounds POV" fly-by-nighters do. why not just google about him?? I just took the step of trying to track down another bb'er who knows him and see if there's any website or presskit out there that could be used to improve this article, not savage it. this series of deletions was wholly unnecessary.......and which I'll try to cite, since you were lazy to. If you'd bothered to google, you'd have found his own website write beneath this wikipedia article, at the top of the page; I'll add it to external links now, since you.....don't really care, you're just doing the "follow that template and justify my wikipedianness" stuff....Skookum1 (talk) 07:44, 19 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Took it to the editor who did it, and just added "BLP/POV" re unreferenced material which he removed anyway....no effort to improve the article at all, and my comment to him, in my sometimes-pithy style], he deleted entirely rather than to acknowledge my complaint about his peremptory and lazy conduct re this article. And just now he deleted my further comment, in less flowery/six gun language, rather than acknowledge his failure to even try to find references and improve the article. This is highly questionable conduct, and out of line, but too common nowadays - dropping templates, deleting things, and moving on to more of the same, with no work on the articles "officially vandalized"; everything deleted by this user is in works about Corney, as anyone who knows bb'ing knows; hopefully someone else from WP:Bodybuilding will take up repairing the damage caused to this article by this enforcement-patroller who has no interest in the subject.....I've got too much to do, and no time for people who delete complaints rather than answer to them. Too many wikipedians now are only "editors" and "patrollers", very few of them actually are writing articles, or researching how to improve ones they come across. Reminds me of various movies and books, from 1984 to Brazil where rooms full of clerks mindlessly process things according to rulesets, watched over by others, with no regard at all for content or who they're affecting with their rule-games.Skookum1 (talk) 03:54, 20 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
