providing a Gross Metropolitan Product of $263 Billion and ...

can you please link a source to this clam ?

--digitalSurgeon 00:02, 15 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Here is a link from the official website of Govenment of Karachi. http://www.karachicity.gov.pk/revenue.asp?BudgetYear=2006-2007

The annual revenues of Karachi District is Rs. 44,208.5 million. That translates to around USD 727 Million by exchange rates or US$ 2.65 Billion by PPP. We need to correct this. -- apangana

Those figures are wrong, $2.65 billion PPP is an extremely poor city by any standards. You must realize that since Pakistan follows European style of number formatting, 2.65 may actually mean 2,65 billion or might simply be a typo.

Well I have a hard time accepting these Figures, controversial at the least.

The other day I was reading an article..by Mr Shahahuddin Ghausi. where the entire GDP of Sind was said to , estimated at about Rs 240 Billion .

and Karachi is ONE of the cities, albeit largesst, of sind, how come it has GDP of Rs 265 Billion....!! Beat me.

source: http://www.dawn.com/2007/06/16/ebr3.htm

The second point,... can any one substantiate the Claim of 65% Generation of Reveneu...!! or is some one confusing " Collection " as " Generation "

even the " Collection " part seems an Exeggeration.

approximately 53.38%

[edit]

"approximately 53.38%" in the lead is a sort of contradiction. It would be more encyclopedic to say "approximately half", given that the exact number will change. MartinPoulter (talk) 09:34, 28 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

1- The entire article including the captions under images are full of incorrect use of grammar making it hard to read.

2- The article also does not contain the latest official population statistics from the 2023 Census of Pakistan which is 20.4 million[1] and cites the 2017 census.
