I've redirected this here as Lenski's work is sometimes referred to as such, but I think there may be a different theory from the field of criminology that uses that name. Someone more familiar with that topic should comment and/or start an article on it. A reference cited in that context is Lawrence Cohen and Richard Machalek (1988).
