History of the Ecclefechan Tart?

[edit]

I am unable to find a source, or indeed any information, regarding the history and origins of the Ecclefechan Tart. The National Library of Scotland has a list of recipe book manuscripts going back as far as the 1600s, however I find them to be very difficult to read. Anyone with any ideas?

I have pieced together a rough 'history' of the tart, I am desperate for some kind of direct connection to Ecclefechan, perhaps through studying domestic trade routes from the times in question (18th to 19th century) Nealsie (talk) 22:29, 25 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
